This is yet again, such a simple simple activity. But it involves glue, yarn, baby pumpkins and googly eyes. For some reason kids seem to love it. In fact, my son made one last year and he played with it until I threw it away.
Materials needed:
- Any size pumpkin. This time we used a small one, but we will be doing the same with some of our medium size pumpkins until we carve them.
- Yarn cut into smaller pieces, can be one color or different colors, it is your choice
- Tacky or Elmer's glue
- Googly eyes
- Piece of felt or construction paper cut into a triangle
- Markers
Very simple. Put some glue on the top of the pumpkin and let your kid put the yarn on for hair.
Put glue dots where the eyes and nose should go, and place them accordingly
Give them a marker and let them draw ears or whatever else they want.
My son thinks he is the master of the glue, so I let him him help. We have some funny pumpkins around this house. In fact, we have half a crazy pumpkin family. When we have the whole family I will post a new picture. But here is his favorite. This one is "him"
And of course we need a little ditty to sing while we make our pumpkins.
PUMPKIN TIME
(to the tune of three blind mice)
Pumpkin time is here again,
Time to play trick or Treat.
Pumpkin time is here again,
Our Spooky friends we'll meet.

See the costumes we have on,
Monsters, ghosts, goblins too.

Hear us all shout "BOO!"
