Foam witch, candy corn, and ghost craft!

How in the world are we at day 9 of Tricks & Treats? Heck, how are we on the 9th of October. This is insane. I guess it is because my daughter is still less than 1. We all know how that first year flies. And I guess it is because I am 32 next month. I am not just 30, not even barely 30 at 31. Nope, officially in my 30's. Not only that, but give me three more years and all of a sudden if I want more kids I am "high risk". That stinks. What is this post about again? Yes! The foam crafts! We had lots of fun!

Since my little guy is still too little to use scissors, the prep was all on me. And that actually took the longest amount of time. Probably wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't using a table ladybug could reach and had to find the missing fleck size wart five times. And then had to re-cut it because ladybug ate it (and yes, pooped it out!)
For this craft, you don't HAVE to use foam. I just like to use different things. Plus, it is only like 2.50 at Michaels if you use a 40% off coupon, and that is for a big big pack of foam sheets. The ones I got were actually supposed to be stickable, but for some reason I was having issues taking the backing off. Maybe because I am a nail-biter (please don't judge me, I know that bitten nails mean the same as holes in shoes, but I have been doing it since like birth). Wow, apparently I am stuck on Random Tuesday. Well, really, that is me anyday, ask my BFF. Trying to follow a conversation with me is taking notes in French when you are in Spanish class.

Anyway, we made a ghost, a witch and a candy corn guy. To complete all three, you need the following materials.

  • 1 sheet of white paper (this will make two small ghosts and the top of the candy corn)
  • 2 sheets of orange paper (this will make two candy corns and two witches hair, plus two warts)
  • 1-2 sheets of black paper (depending on how you conserve space, this will make two witches hats, four ghost eyes, two ghost mouths, two witches mouths and two candy corn mouths)
  • 1 piece of yellow paper (will make the bottom of both candy corns and the ribbon on the witches hat)
  • 1 piece of green paper (to make two witches faces and two witches noses)
  • four small googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • glue if you don't want to deal with stupid backing paper.
  • 4 small googly eyes
To make
  1. Cut out all the pieces. You can get creative with this. Make a pointy hat, make a funny hat, make scary faces, make silly ones, whatever you want. Print the picture up and trace if you want, up to you.
  2. Put them together. Simple simple simple. But my little man had so much fun! Well, he would be happy if I gave him a bottle of glue and free reign, but you know.
  3. Since I think pictures are probably easier than instruction on this project, here they are!

All the shapes I used for each project. You can't see it, but we did make a teeny tiny orange wart for the nose, and it is hard to see the witch nose, but it is just like a half circle of green.

Little man had fun, I let him put things where he wanted to.

We were done, but apparently you can never have too much glue!

Little man's are on the left, mine are on the right. I think he did AWESOME! He is only 2 1/2 you know!

UPDATE
I have a pretty smart friend! She said she attached a magnet to the back of hers! Wouldn't that be cute!

9 of you are the "cool kids":

Must you keep mocking me with your craftiness!??? LOL!! I am so not a crafty person and I feel so inferior when I see others being so good at it! I need to find my special purpose!
