Happy Thanksgiving!

In the spirit of the Holiday, I am taking a break from giveaways and postings ( I will probably still do some visiting, after all, it IS a day to spend with family and friends!), and writing about all the things that I am thankful for.

Husband: "My family"-automatic, didn't even think
Little Man: In all his brutal honesty-"I don't know". So with the next prompt of what are you happiest about? His sweet answer "Candy Canes" (I told him he could have one when we got done with dishes-his first ever). In a further attempt, I asked him what he thanks God for..."Handy Manny" Alrighty then.
Baby girl just smiled at me with her banana grin. She is thankful she finally has teeth, that she has finally tasted the goodness that is white cake and chocolate frosting, and most recently....for candy canes.
As for me....

I am thankful for my health, for the ability to work, for the job I have that allows me to be home with my children, and for my husband's job.

I am thankful that I found a husband who loves me despite all of my baggage, who knows me better than anyone, and who understands me and all my faults.

I am thankful that God blessed my husband and I with children. So many women will never know the joy of being pregnant, so many children will never know the joy of a family filled with love and happiness.

I am thankful that my son made it through his apnea and surgeries and is healthy now. I am thankful that my daughter's true knot didn't pull tight, and that her positive cystic fibrosis test was incorrect.

I am thankful for my sight so that I am able to see my children's beautiful smiles. I am thankful for my hearing so that I can listen to those sweet sweet giggles and love you's. And I am thankful that I can hold them close and kiss away their tears. I am thankful we all have a bed to sleep in, a roof over our heads, and food in our bellies.

I am thankful for a man who came into my life and showed me what a father is...otherwise I may never have known.

I am thankful for all of my material things that I don't need, and that I could live without, and that I take for granted.

I am thankful for my family and friends, that I have had a mom and dad for me through all these years. That I have had the wonderful opportunity to know my grandparents and even my great-grandma. I am thankful that I have a friend who understands me, and who has been the person I needed as a friend even before I knew it.

I am thankful that there are people willing to fight for this country, because I know I couldn't do what they do.

I am thankful for all of my past mistakes. Without them I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today. I am thankful for all the people that have come and gone from my life and changed me in some small, or large, way. Those who have taught me, loved me, hated me, guided me and betrayed me. I am thankful I had the wonderful opportunity to experience all of this.

And I am thankful for YOU! My bloggie buddies, family, and friends. Those of you who take the time to visit, stop for a moment to comment, and care enough to return.
THANK YOU!!!

I HOPE YOU HAVE A FANTASTIC THANKSGIVING, FILLED WITH LOVE, TRADITIONS, THANKFULNESS AND HOPE.

15 of you are the "cool kids":

Indeed sista....we as mothers couldnt be more thankful that we have our children. Some mothers that I know personally don't value the gift they've been given and that breaks my heart because every mother should be more than thankful for those innocent, precious blessings. I'm thankful that I have you as a blogging buddy and although I don't post as many comments as I'd like (you probably understand that as a mother we get drifted away) but I truly love your posts and hope to meet you someday in person. :) xoxoxo

I had to chuckle a bit at your son's efforts at thankfulness. As part of our bedtime routine every night, I ask my kids "what are you thankful for." My son's standard answer is "popcorn." And today when we went around the table and named what we were thankful for, he said "popcorn" and "donkeys."
