I must say, I was VERY honored to be asked to sponsor this giveaway, because this book (although not this edition) has been a bible in our family! It is truly a fantastic resource, a WONDERFUL money saver, and even has safety ratings!

This book has everything new parents need to help them take the "OMG! What are we doing" fear out of the happy experience. In fact, I wish I learned about resources like these BEFORE my first. We wasted a lot of time and money on things that this book informs you about. There are wonderful shopping guides to websites, store, and catalogs. It also has wonderful checklists and worksheets to help organize everything you are doing (oh how I would have loved this!)

I think one of my favorite things about this book, though, is all of the safety tips that are involved. There are ratings of car seats, carriers, play yards, and travel systems. They even include recent safety recalls, commonly prescribed medicines for babies, and childproofing and home-safety tips.

The Christmas I was pregnant, I had a LOT of people wondering what to get me as a small additional gift. This would have been absolutely perfect. Perfect for you, perfect for baby shower, perfect for a gift!

Further, we have some fun frugal stuff to throw in here! I am not going to get into the whole breast vs. bottle issue. Most moms would love to do breastfeeding, but sometimes things just come up, no matter what you really WANT to do. I couldn't breastfeed for very long no matter how badly I wanted to, because of the medication I was taking. With my first, I couldn't get enough milk in, so I HAD to supplement. Some of us have to go back to work, some dads want more time feeding, some babies aren't getting enough nutrients. Whatever the case, sometimes formula just becomes essential.
