Yep! I did it ladies, I got myself a nice Time out for Theta Mom Thursday. If you are unfamiliar with the topic, you shouldn't be. We all need a time out. Although, as the wonderful new ladies I met last night and I discussed, good ones like these only come along one a month!!

From last month you may remember that I have gotten involved with a wonderful group called the Mile High Mamas. They sponsor great events for great causes. Tonight was about increasing support for the Million Baby Crawl, an effort to raise awareness about the need to raise awareness about the need for stronger toxic chemical laws. I didn't actually think I was going to be able to go. I was actually on the wait list and didn't get the ticket until today. Then it was babysitter to deal with, work meeting I wanted to attend.....but I decided to go. Then I had another hurdle to overcome. I had to go alone. I know this may seem silly to most of you, but it has been a LONG time since I went to a social event where I was only going to know one person solo. But I hiked up my mommy britches and I went, with the knowledge my friend would be there before me.On the way, I as actually LISTENING to the radio show that was on. They started talking about a story called "The Growing Tree" by Shel Silverstein. The whole thing was one guy was saying it made him cry, the other guy said it was stupid, so they asked for someone who had never heard it to call in while they read it. So I did. And I actually got on. The story made me cry, it was wonderful. So I got to be fun on the radio, and I didn't get lost. It was right where the directions said it would be. But, guess what, my was lost (if you remember last month, our WHOLE night was spent lost, if you don't remember, you can read HERE~I now think it is her ;) ). Anyway, I squared my shoulders and walked in. And guess what! I started talking to two wonderful ladies as we were still signing our name tags. As a matter of fact, I shared my story, and as one person told the other what the book was about, that sweet woman started crying. (If you haven't read it, do. It is touching. I will be getting it for my babies for Christmas) And even when my friend did arrive, I was confident enough to continue talking to AWESOME ladies on my own! I haven't had a chance to look in on their blogs yet, but I will be sure to share them as I do!
It was a wonderful night, filled with wonderful people. I left refreshed, I left feeling like something other than a mommy. I hear next month is going to be even better. I can't wait to see my new friends again!
