Sushi, Cherry Candy Canes, and water. One of these is not like the others.

randomtuesday

I really think I should have wrote this post about two days ago. I woke up with no voice and barely breathing, and believed my son when he told me it was Christmas. After the initial panic of "how could I have freaking overslept" I realized he has been saying it is his birthday for like three months now. The day that ensued was more of the same....too bad I REALLY can't even remember it. So, I guess you lucked out.....

This was my first year of present wrapping while kids ran around. I learned a couple of things. First off all, DO NOT WALK AWAY in the midst of wrapping a present. More to the point, don't wrap it, not tag it, and walk away. You will have absolutely no idea who it was supposed to go to. Thus you can either guess and hope you are right, or unwrap the present. Both suck Next, don't think "well, they are playing quietly and out of the way". You will walk into a room where a full thing of bubble bath is dumped in a tub with no water, a new little toddling beauty has somehow managed to get her diaper off her tooshie and stuck in one pajama leg and poop pebbles in the other, and your brand new stamps that you got for your Christmas cards (and not to mention the fact that you gritted your teeth while buying them they are so stinking expensive) are placed very artistically on the shower door. And no....I did not leave them alone for even ten minutes. I wrapped one present and found this.

I did have to totally laugh at an old friend of mine. I had commented on facebook that I lost my voice. His reaction "any husband that can't hear his wife is a lucky man". Nope, not married yet. And definitely doesn't have kids yet. You can tell because he hasn't learned how to simply tune his woman out....and doesn't realize that if momma ain't happy....no one is happy. He has so much to learn. Besides, who is going to read the same book five bazillion times in one hour. Yep, that would be the "lucky" husband!

Yep, apparently my husband does not listen to a dang word I say, whether he can hear me or not. I read the previous post about losing weight to him...and what is he doing now but making us a freaking snack. Thanks honey. I will remember this when it is time for you to get a vasectomy. I will come walking out on the day of wearing something slinky and "forget". Or I will use the Un-Mom's Vicks idea from last week. Paybacks are....well me on a diet.

So I will let you in on a little secret, it is Monday and I am writing random Tuesday. Go ahead and judge me since you probably did the same. Have you not noticed how they are all posted so dang early? So maybe we should be honest and say "random crap I thought Monday night but am posting on Tuesday". And now I have absolutely no freaking idea of where this was going......Ah yes. I love the Big Bang Theory. That is what we are watching (duh). I don't know if I buy the hot chick dating the geeky boy with the crazy roommate, but I still love it. Poor Sheldon. hee hee.

And just so you know, cherry candy canes do not taste good with popcorn. My diet is going great can you tell? I did get up to 6 glasses of water today. I only need ten for my goals. And I bought the bin to clean out my closet....but the presents needed wrapped first. I did only have one helping of dinner today and I wanted two! But let's be honest....it is because I want Chinese food this week. How do all you water drinkers drink so much. I swear, I had the never-ending pee stream like after my fourth cup. And in my desperate attempt to get more water in last night I fell asleep with my trusty liter water cup from the hospital.....and ended up waking up thinking either I peed myself or my daughter wet the bed.  This is impossible....but I WILL do it.

Just like I finally made my own sushi. And it was GOOOD. And cheap. It could be better if I find some better seaweed. And learn to roll a little tighter. And yes....I am ONLY talking about sushi. See, here is proof. Yep, that is even nigiri. And nope....I didn't get sick.

Have a lot of random stuff rolling around in that head of yours and pushing out all of those to-do's? Link up and get 'em out! Head over to the un-mom HERE!

12 of you are the "cool kids":

My Husband ALSO does this regarding my diet. In fact he laughs at me when I refuse food and says "don't be silly". So I smile, scoff down the bowl of icecream he was offering and then he makes a joke the next morning about my pants being too tight. THANKS.

What I do (and this drives my wife crazy) is that I tend to wrap each person's gift with the same wrapping paper. That way I do not have to put a tag on it and I know who's is who's.

I tend to write things ahead of time and schedule them to post the night before. I finally got rid of four drafts that have been in my drafts for almost a year and now things seem a bit empty.

Thank you for your randomness,

Your sushi came out nicely. My daughter has a kit, but I've never seen how it looks when she makes it.

I've never had a non-peppermint candy cane!

I don't know people can drink that much water either!!!! The worst part is the constant having to pee!

If it makes you feel any better, wrapping presents with dogs around isn't much better. Every time I rolled out the paper, the dogs would walk on it. That would split the paper in places, or they'd try to sit in my lap, grab the pen, sniff the scissors, chew on the bow, pick up the box, etc. Maybe we should all just hire someone to wrap our presents next year.
