I really don't remember what a mom time-out is. I did send out an SOS to my friend for some sushi, but who knows when that will be with busy schedules and what-not. But this week and last week, and quite frankly even the week before that have been absolutely crazy. my little man started school in January, and I never ever knew how that simple act would make my life so crazy and busy! That added to his Taekwon-Do, my dad's surgery, little man's birthday.....it has been nuts. I really don't know how you full time mommy's do it----or how you full time SAHM do it. I feel like I am burning the candles at both ends and they are meeting in the middle quickly!
But...
I did manage to find a semi-timeout. My friend and I took all the little one's to the Children's museum today. It was definitely different now that my little guy didn't care where I was. It was weird not knowing what he was doing every second, oohing and awwing over what he played with, praising and playing along with him. I was still able to do this with my baby girl, but it made me realize that it will only be one or two more visits and she will be running off with him....not caring where mom is. Made some frustrations melt away, that is for sure.
Plus, it had been so very long since me and my friend had gotten together and really had a chance to catch up and vent and sympathize with one another. I think it is good for my kids to see her too. She is more like an Aunt to them than she is "mom's friend", and I think it is important for them to know there is that support and love in their lives.
So, I didn't REALLY get my time-out, but I KIND of did. It was definitely needed, that is for sure.
So what did you do this week? Are you joining in on Theta Mom Thursdays?

8 of you are the "cool kids":
Hey mama! It's so nice to see you join in again. :) But, I am only holding Time Out Thursday's on the last Thursday of each month, since a weekly meme was a bit much to keep up with.
How are you???
missing my blogging buddies so stopping in to catch up a little and wish you a wonderful day.
hugz!
We stay pretty busy over here. We do as much as we can with Maya. We have her six days a week. It is hard to do too much on just Sunday. Especially since every other Sunday I go over to my daughters house about an hour away.
So you need to grab every bit of gusto. Whenever you get a chance.
Have a Peaceful Day.
That is so nice. I am looking forward to next week because I having coffee with the girls , starbucks been saving the change girl LOL..... I am so excited!
Hey are we doing it every thursday or just once a month? Oh man I didn't write anything today.
I promised my son to take him to children museum again.I hope I can do this soon.He loves children museum..Spending some time with a good friend is the best time out!
Have a great day Vicki!
That sounds like a perfect way to spend some time!!!
I thought about doing Theta Mom's Timeout, but I thought it might be a little awkward not being a mom. What am I taking time out from, being a dog owner? I need one sometimes. I can't even take a bath without one of them expecting me to throw a ball or pet them.
Anyway, I gave you the Happy 101 Blog Award on my blog for being a top commenter in January. Stop by when you can to pick it up.
I say take every little bit you can :)
