I am a HUGE fan of reading. There is absolutely no secret that I think it is SO important to introduce our youngsters to reading at a young age. Both of my little ones love our nightly reading sessions, and my son can read along with me to most of the. So that is why I am very very excited to be a small part of Jumpstart's Read for the Record Campaign. Jumpstart is a fantastic non-profit organization that pulls together volunteers and college students and combines them with low-income preschool students to create a wonderful mentoring and tutoring relationship. Each year Jumpstart has a wonderful Read for the Record campaign, and THIS year, they want all of US to choose the official 2010 campaign book! There are four Penguins Children's book titles to choose from:

Blueberries for Sal, Make Way for Ducklings, Peter's Chair, and The Snowy Day. 

Not only do we get to choose the book for this years Read for the Record, but we also get to have an impact on helping the preschoolers in the program. For each vote received, the Pearson Foundation will donate $1 to the program! (up to $200,000) But please hurry, because voting ends on FEB. 28TH! The winner will be announced on March 2 via text message and will become the book that Jumpstart's fifth annual campaign will be centered around!
