This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.
This past weekend, my family decided to go to a local amusement park. I have lived in my state my whole life, and I remember going to this amusement park when I was a kid, but I was surprised to learn that this particular place was built in 1908! I also found out that the woman that owns it took it over for her parents, who bought it in the 30's. After I discovered that, I spent a lot of time looking at old pictures, reading old articles, and learning about the historical park. I realized that I don't pay much attention to the historical landmarks in my area. But they are so special. It was fun to think that my kids were riding the same rides I used to.
Things are changing without us even realizing it. The small mom and pop places (including this one-owner amusement park) are being pushed aside for the "bigger and better". Maybe bigger, but I am not so sure about the better. The family recipes, passed-down stories, and the generations of families are something that those bigger places just can't buy. Unfortunately, though, when these big companies and strip malls come in, the smaller places just can't compete. And it is even further reaching. The larger companies start outsourcing, and more people lose jobs."Made in America" became something of the past, something people stopped desiring.
Once, everyone thought that outsourcing was great. It was saving money, making products and services less expensive. But what about the damage it has done to our economy? This is actually a topic that really hits home for me....I work in a call center. Unfortunately this job is outsourced all the time, to places that don't really care about the products they are selling or the people they are selling them to. But with our economy struggling SO bad, I truly believe it is time we start demanding "Made in America" again. This country is so good at helping others when they are in need. But now those in our backyards are in need too. Those people that have always cared for us, always made the effort to remember our favorite drink, and cared enough to put in the extra effort on a phone call rather than filling a quota. The only way to help those mom and pop shops is to buy American made products and services
Ramblers Way Farm is a company that is setting the standards when it comes to revitalizing American's small towns, from manufacturing all the way down to their Corporate Office that is a historical landmark that they restored to the 1972 original condition! Ramblers Way Farm sources, grows and produces their fine woolen apparel using 100% domestic resources Made in America! They have manufacturing facilities set up in distressed small towns and are helping to revitalize the communities. If we can get more companies to follow Ramblers Way Farm, maybe we can avoid losing such special parts of our history forever.
