You know we all have them. That beautiful moment that makes you realize you are a mom, the moment that something you swore you would never say comes out of your mouth, those moments you couldn't even make up if you tried? Well, let's share shall we? Those moments in which we are pulling our hair out, trying not to cry, laugh, or scream. Moments we think we would never see, and moments we think we will never laugh at? Let it out ladies!
"Look at the one with the make-up. It must be the mommy!"-I sure hope I don't look like the monkey from Lion King!
"That is the big daddy monkey. He is the daddy and he eats TWO sandwiches".-yes, yes daddy does eat two sandwiches!
"Ewww, the hippo stinkied!"-yeah, he did a lot more than that, kiddo!
"The Sea lion is my best animal, mommy. (I responded "I thought the giraffe was your favorite) No mommy, the giraffe is my favorite and the sea lion is my BEST!"-alrighty then
And my favorite, when the day was done and we were in the car:
"Mommy, I had a really good day with you. When I am older I will be married with you"-awwwww
And, finally a picture courtesy of my son (yep, even took it himself)....apparently what he found worthy of remembering
I love special one-on-one days with my kids. This weekend my son and I finally got to have one again. We decided to go to the zoo (after a lot of "let's go to the park, mommy) and realizing he thought the park to mean the amusement park.
Anyway, it was wonderful, it was fun, and it was freaking HOT HOT HOT! But the best part of these days is getting to focus on one kid, and really learning about them and catching all the cute things they say. For example, this is what I heard from my son at the zoo:
"Mommy look, he has a shrimp stuck to his tooshie!"-seriously, how do those monkeys take each other seriously?

5 of you are the "cool kids":
Sounds like a fun time. I love when kids say things like that...they are so honest they don't even know how funny they sound! Love the pic of the monkey's butt!
I love the monkeys! The first time my little one saw the red butted monkeys, she screamed, thinking their butts were bleeding.
Oh I love it when they say "my best" for "my favorite" both my boys did that and I just love that up!!!
I absolutely love kiddo days. We don't get many of them around here with 4 monkies (haha) of our own and our crazy work schedules, but we do our best. The most awesome thing for me is when its my hub's turn to do something with the boys and they hang all over them until they find out who's turn it is, and then bat their eyes at him and say "Pweeeeease can we go too??"
It would be pretty cool on it's own, but its AWESOME because he's their step-dad, but has been more of a dad than they have EVER had in their lives. It makes my heart go pitty-pat!
That's exactly what we did too this weekend. Went to the Zoo. OMG the captions ot the pictures cracked me up. Sounds like you and your son had a blast. Gotta love those souveniour cups. ours get filled with pink lemonade. YUM
