You know we all have them. That beautiful moment that makes you realize you are a mom, the moment that something you swore you would never say comes out of your mouth, those moments you couldn't even make up if you tried? Well, let's share shall we? Those moments in which we are pulling our hair out, trying not to cry, laugh, or scream. Moments we think we would never see, and moments we think we will never laugh at? Let it out ladies!
On Thursday I wrote a post about getting some me-time in. I had plans to visit my favorite AYCE sushi place with a book and myself. I have never eaten alone in a restaurant before, so I was a little nervous. But I was determined. And, I got a lot of positive encouragement from you! So I just did it!

I did get there early enough to get my private little booth. I pulled out my book, ate slowly and enjoyed my time THOROUGHLY! Once or twice the thought of "I hope they are okay" crossed my mind, but I pushed it out. Just me and my sushi, although I am sure the ahi wasn't enjoying the day nearly as much as I was. I was even kind of bummed when I got my check that it was already time to go, but I didn't want to hold up their table. I was even kind of glad that the waitress got busy towards the end of my visit and wasn't hanging around so much, gave me more time to just read. That and I didn't have to keep nodding my head and smiling because she spoke so quiet I could not hear a word she was saying. Afterwards, I went and got gas without little yellers in the back of the car, and I went to the grocery store to get just a few things (and left what I went in to get!). It was Heaven. Even more so when I got home and my husband and kids were taking a nap so I had another half an hour of me time. I got quite a bit of reading done in my 1-2-3 Magic book, much to the dismay of my son who is becoming Best Friends with his bedroom. Poor guy. Mom says she will be back soon and come home with a whole new discipline system. That's gotta suck.

7 of you are the "cool kids":
Good for you! :)
Hey i love having me time and If I can get out of the house during my me time ...That's even better. I used to go out to eat alone at least every 3 months because I was the only one that liked Indian cuisine. I am so glad you had your day out.
YAY FOR YOU!
It's hard to get over that "alone" hurdle for the first time, but it feels sooooo good.
People that don't have kids think I'm nuts for going to Wal-Mart at 9PM on a week night. It's AWESOME because the kids have already been tucked into bed and Hubby can play on the Wii and I get to browse guilt FREE!
That's Awesome Vicki. You make it sound wonderful I think I'm gonna have to do some'a that myself. :) I'm glad you had a good time to yourself. You deserve it!
BTW I got my Bob the Builder DVD today and right away the kids watched it three times in a row and now ofcourse they're acting it out! Thanks! :)
Wow...you are amazing. I haven't gotten up the nerve to actually eat alone someplace but my kids are older so I just go and grab some take out and bring it home and veg out in front of the TV while watching anything I want! That is true bliss, my friend!
I've eaten 'alone' a lot, because I used to travel for work - it's actually nice at times, to not have to talk to someone. not to mention, i love reading!
Never feel guilty for refilling your "me" tank! :) It's a very important part of mothering.
